Overview

The Access to HE Diploma is a full Level 3 qualification designed to prepare learners without traditional qualifications for entry into Higher Education (HE). The Diploma provides opportunity for learners to acquire and develop knowledge and skills needed to progress to higher education study and also enables learners to develop social and emotional skills such as communication and confidence.

To achieve the Access to Higher Education Diploma (Public Sector Services and Policing) Ref. 400/0960/9 learners must achieve:

  • 45 credits which must be graded, academic subject content at Level 3 only.
  • 15 credits which must be either at Level 2 or Level 3 ungraded (U).

This Access to HE Diploma is for those who wish to apply for university degrees such as BA (Hons) in Criminology, BA (Hons) in Policing, BA (Hons) in Criminal Justice and related degrees.

In our course you will learn about the different aspects of criminology, such as criminal justice and social policy, the criminology of prisons. Furthermore, you will gain more general knowledge about the British public sector by learning about political representation and the contemporary issues in social policy. You will also gain a very good set of related and needed skills including statistical skills and graphical techniques.
